Fr Brendan Michael DILLON PE

Dearly loved son of John and Sheila (both deceased).

Treasured brother of Geraldine (dec), John and Fr. Kevin.

Loved brother-in-law of Alison, and uncle of Marion, Chrissie, Andrew, Michael, Robbie (dec) and John.

Loved and highly respected by his extended family, clergy and parishioners.

Brendan was ordained a Priest for the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne on July 23,1966 and gave 58 years of dedicated pastoral service. He retired from a life-time of parish ministry in 2017 when he was diagnosed with the extremely debilitating neurological disease - Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy (PSP). He died peacefully in his sleep in the Nellie Melba Nursing Home in Wheelers Hill.

Brendan served:

As an Assistant Priest in St Clements Parish, Bulleen (1967-69), Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Cheltenham (1970-71) and St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne (1972).

As an Administrator in St Bernard's Parish, Bacchus Marsh (1980-1981).

As a Parish Priest in St Peter's Parish, Epping (1982-1993) and St Leonard's Parish, Glen Waverley (1994-2017).

As Chaplain to the Australian Army - Watsonia, Portsea and Wagga (1972-1979) and to the Racing Community - Victoria (1992-2022).

In Retirement at Good Shepherd Parish, Mulgrave (2017) and Nellie Melba Aged Care, Wheelers Hill (2020-2024).
