Les Twentyman dedicated a lifetime of service, generosity, and kindness to some of Victoria's most vulnerable people, he uplifted disadvantaged communities and worked tirelessly with youth in need of support across Victoria to find a positive future.
What started as acts of kindness locally soon extended across the nation.
Through the Les Twentyman Foundation, Les advocated for people who were often forgotten, implementing support programs that changed for the better the lives of thousands of young Victorians and their families.
He also stood as a voice for the voiceless, making a lasting impact on issues of great importance to our community, including youth homelessness, alcohol and drug addiction, prison reform, youth justice and social welfare.
A treasured son of Victoria and one of the great Australians – Les was awarded the Order of Australia in 1994 and named Victorian of the Year in 2006 for the thousands of young lives he helped and the hearts he touched.
Les’s legacy lives on through the Les Twentyman Foundation who will continue his work in helping the most disadvantaged people in our community and the stories that will continue to be shared by the people he helped.
